The Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation of Washington takes pride in fostering fellowship opportunities for graduate students in their academic journey. We offer an array of Fellowships through various universities and programs. Graduate students already enrolled and working towards their degrees are chosen by their respective schools to become Fellows in their respective programs.

School of Law and Justice
Law & Justice Fellowships
The Foundation awards fellowships to Law & Justice, and programs that intersect with law, justice, public policy, and the preservation of American ideals. These fellowships support students who demonstrate a commitment to understanding the legal foundations of a free society, promoting public safety, and advancing policies that uphold the rule of law, individual liberty, and civic responsibility.

Blankinship Fellowship
The Blankinship Fellowship is awarded to graduate students entering a School of Speech Therapy or Speech Pathology at each of the following schools. The fellowship awards are $6,000 each.

Early Life Speech and Language Clinics
Funded and operated by dedicated Scottish Rite Masons in Washington State, Early Life Speech and Language (ELSL) meets the ever-growing need for highly skilled speech and language practitioners.
Through its supervised practicum program, ELSL attracts and trains Blankenship Fellowship recipients, offering real-world clinical experience in diagnosing and treating communication disorders.
Fellows benefit from mentorship by experienced speech-language pathologists while serving children and families throughout the region. This partnership strengthens the pipeline of qualified professionals entering the field and directly advances our mission to improve lives through compassionate care, clinical excellence, and community-based service.

Scottish Rite Endowment Graduate Fellowships
Deadline: February 15th
Eligibility Requirements
Current or prospective GW graduate students with familial/personal affiliation with a U.S. Scottish Rite organization. US Citizens only.
Study in the Elliott School of International Affairs, the School of Business, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Graduate School of Education and Human Development, the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Professional Studies, or the Milken Institute School of Public Health on the Foggy Bottom campus.
Scottish Rite Undergrad Scholarships
Merit scholarships, up to a maximum of half of tuition costs, established through a gift of the Scottish Rite Foundation, are awarded annually to full-time undergraduates at GW.
To be eligible, an applicant must have a relative, living or deceased, who is or was in good standing with the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Applicants who are members of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in good standing may also be considered.
Students must also have strong academic credentials as submitted with the application for admission and full-time attendance at GW. Students must submit an additional application to be considered. The Scottish Rite Scholarship application is available from October 1 through February 1 each year.
